Morley Rec Survey Outcomes

The City of Bayswater Recreation Services team is excited to share the outcomes of the recent Morley Sport & Recreation Centre (MSRC) Satisfaction Survey, which was conducted throughout June 2024. This survey was an important step in understanding the needs and satisfaction levels of our members and users following the City’s transition to operational management of MSRC in November 2023.

Survey Overview

The MSRC Satisfaction Survey was open from June 1 to June 30, 2024, with the primary goal of gaining insight into what our members and facility users enjoy about the centre, where improvements could be made, and how satisfied they are with the current program offerings. We reached out to the community through direct emails, social media posts, in-house posters, and survey stations within the facility. As a result, we received an impressive 179 completed surveys, including 49 paper copies from on-site stations.

What We Heard

Overall, the feedback was positive, with 79.4% of respondents expressing satisfaction or high satisfaction with MSRC’s offerings. Notably, the gym received the highest satisfaction rating, with 88.1% of participants satisfied or very satisfied. However, there were areas identified for improvement, such as facility cleanliness and the need for infrastructure updates, especially regarding roof leaks and the aging state of the sports courts.

Here’s a snapshot of the key survey findings:

  • Overall Satisfaction: 79.4% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Gym Satisfaction: 88.1% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Group Fitness: 78.5% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Creche: 100% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Sports Courts: 33.4% Satisfied or Very Satisfied, with significant dissatisfaction due to roof leaks during the survey period
  • Kids Programs: 71.4% Satisfied
  • Café: 76.6% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Senior Programs: 85.3% Satisfied or Very Satisfied
  • Venue Bookings: 85.7% Satisfied or Very Satisfied

Responding to Your Feedback

We are already working to address the concerns raised by our community. For example, we’ve begun replacing broken TVs in the gym, assessing and updating group fitness equipment, and scheduling necessary repairs to the facility’s roof. Additionally, plans are in place to upgrade the air conditioning systems and improve the overall cleanliness of the centre. We’re committed to rejuvenating MSRC, and these efforts are just the beginning.

Next Steps

Looking ahead, we’ll be conducting a similar survey for our other facilities, including The RISE and Bayswater Waves. These surveys are part of our ongoing commitment to engaging with our community and making informed decisions that enhance your experience with us. We encourage you to participate in these upcoming surveys and share your thoughts on how we can continue to improve.
